Belp's crazy day
Okay, I honestly don’t know where this super random idea came from, or what category it fits into (if any) but here is something silly and goofy that I had a lot of fun writing. Do with it what you will. Happy Thursday!
Belp Slapagar had arm problems.
He rolled out of bed and discovered that only one of his six arms was willing to work that day.
Three of his arms went on strike, demanding extra break times and fewer chores. The other two kept hitting the snooze, snoring so loudly that he had to stuff them into his backpack in a vain attempt to drown out the sound.
Needless to say, his equilibrium was terminally thrown off all day long. He kept tripping and spraining the wrist on the good arm.
The other three kept calling the good arm a scab (which he did his best to ignore) and the other two kept changing the pitch and intensity of their snores, making it impossible to get used to them or ignore them.
Lunch was a disaster. The good arm did his best to get food to Belp’s mouth, but he kept bumping into the sleeping arms and getting jostled by the protest arms who always said sorry but never meant it.
Finally, Belp had enough.
Turning his head to the right, he bellowed at the sleeping arms, finally rousing them and ordering them to come out where he could see them. While he was there, he thanked the good arm for working so hard for him all day and promised him a good rest and a knuckle massage when they all made it home that night. Then he turned his head to the left and told the protesting three that he was ready to negotiate.
He sat down on a park bench and discussed terms with them, doing his best not to agitate any of the arms and make sure he let them each speak.
It took the rest of the afternoon, but he finally managed to appease the three arms and convince them to return to work. The intensity of the negotiating session caught the attention of the other arms. They hung politely off to the side, watching things unfold with interest and whispered comments.
Finally, Belp stumbled home and fell into his bed, completely exhausted. The arms all nestled closely around him, content and happy to be back on the same team again.
