A Groro Pas is a sacred kefi life quest.
A kefi man forms a five-person search party (counting himself) with the following specific abilities/assignments:
Leader
Warrior
Tracker
Healer
Collector
Each member of the party contributes a specific skill that is meant to help them to complete the quest to save or find a life.
The leader of the quest takes a sacred vow.
While the other members of the quest are equally tasked with the successful completion of the quest, the leader is the only one who must abide by the consequences of this vow if the Groro Pas is unsuccessful.
If a Groro Pas is unsuccessful in finding a life, the leader is banished into exile for the rest of his life as punishment.
If a Groro Pas is unsuccessful in saving a life, the leader must sacrifice his life in exchange for the one that was lost.
The Kefi people view a Groro Pas as an immensely sacred and terrifying ritual that must never be entered into lightly.
